Earth Institute — Climate mythology: The Gulf Stream, European climate and Abrupt Change



You've probably heard about the Gulf Stream weakening and the potentially "catastrophic" effects.

This climate scientist says not to worry.

Note that the piece doesn't say that climate change is not occurring or claim that humans are not involved. It just says that the conventional wisdom about the Gulf Stream is wrong.

Watching how climate predictions routinely fall short (temperature rise, ice melt, sea level rise, etc.) despite repeated adjustments it is rather difficult to believe any one set of data over another.

Aside from the fact that doG put economists here to make meteorologists feel better about themselves.
